About :Richard Wagner composed Siegfried Idyll at a very happy time in his life. He had just become a father for the third time and named his son Siegfried. He had also just married Cosima, the daughter of the composer Franz Liszt. Siegfried-Idyll is intended as a surprise for his wife on her birthday. The preparations were organised with the utmost secrecy. An orchestra of 15 musicians is formed by a few friends. The musicians sneak into the house in the morning while Cosima is still sleeping.
