About :Composed by the French clerc Thoinot Arbeau (1520-1595), whose real name was Jean Tabourot, this pavane is designed for four voices and is known under its first line “Belle qui tiens ma vie”. The pavane was a basse danse (a slow dance with moves close to the ground) danced in Renaissance courts.
