About :The Nocturnes, Op. 9, are a set of three for piano written by the Polish composer Frédéric Chopin between 1830 and 1831, when he was around twenty years old. These pieces are dedicated to Marie Pleyel, pianist and wife of the editor Camille Pleyel. The second nocturne of the work, whose melody becomes increasingly ornamented with each recurrence, is regarded as Chopin's most famous piece. The Nocturnes hold an important place in the contemporary concert repertoire, a genre which Chopin popularized according to a form developed by the Irish composer John Field.
