Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713) was an Italian Violinist and composer. He didn't compose a lot of works, and although he composed pieces in only three instrumental genres-sonata, trio sonata and concerto-he is nevertheless considered as one of the major composers of the Baroque period. La Follia is a dance style that appeared in the 15th century, probably in Portugal. It has been used for variations by over 150 composers. Corelli's version is one of the most famous.
