About :The Pavane in F-sHarp minor, Op.50, by the French composer Gabriel Fauré, was written in 1887. It was originally a Piano piece but is better known in Fauré's version for orchestra and chorus. Deriving its rhythm from slow processional Spanish court dances, Fauré dedicated his work to the Comtesse Elisabeth Greffulhe, known for her elegance and her aerial gait. The Pavane has inspired many cover versions in popular music, notably by Bobby McFerrin and Bill Evans, and has also been used in many films.
