About :Orlando Furioso is one of the drammi per musica that make up the rich and little known lyrical repertoire of Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741). Composed on a libretto by Grazio Braccioli after the eponymous work by Ariosto, the opera was premiered in 1727 at the Teatro Sant'Angelo in Venice, where the composer was also the impresario. In his first aria 'Nel profondo cieco mondo', Paladin Orlando affirms his desire to defeat the magician Alcina.
