"Sur le Pont d'Avignon" (On Avignon's Bridge) is a French folk song that would date back to the 15th century. The song is about different people dancing on the Saint-Bénézet Bridge in Avignon (South-East of France). It became popular in 1853, when it was taken up by Adolphe Adam in his comic opera "Le Sourd ou l'Auberge pleine".
