About : Jean-Sébastien Bach (1685-1750) wrote more than 300 cantates. Many of them include "sinfonie" used as overtures to the whole piece or to specific parts. These "sinfonie" varies from short Sonatinas to real concertos for flute, oboe or organ. They are independent pieces in which Bach could unfold his richful writing, either intimate and simple, or bright and full of virtuosity.
