Charles-Joseph Colin (1832-1881) was a French oboist, organist and composer. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and attented Adolphe Adam's and Ambroise Thomas's composition classes. In 1857, he received the second prize at the Prix de Rome, right after Georges Bizet. From 1868, he became a devoted oboe teacher at the Conservatoire de Paris.
