About : Claude Debussy's Sonata for Violin and Piano, composed between 1916 and 1917, was premiered in Paris in May 1917 with the composer at the piano during a benefit concert for those who suffered eye trauma during the Great War. The third and last of the sonatas composed during the winter of 1916-1917 as Debussy was gravely ill, it is the last major work by the musician, who died less than a year after its premiere.
