About : Henry Eccles was an English composer (end of the 17th c. – beg. Of the 18th c.) who grew up in a family of musicians. As a violinist, he composed many pieces for his instrument. His Sonata in G, orginally written for viola, became a standard for violists, but also for double bassists who took it up and transcribed it.
