About :The 'Cantique de Jean Racine' (Hymn of Jean Racine) was composed when Gabriel Fauré was merely 19, as he was studying at the Niedermeyer School of Music (Paris). It is made for a four-part mixed chorus with organ accompaniement and was dedicated to César Franck. It was set on a translation of the Roman breviary by the French writer Jean Racine.
