Sarabande, from Suite No.4 in G major HWV437
George Frideric Handel
Hélène Desaint & Emmanuel Christien
This Sarabande is part of the second volume the collected Music for Harpsichord, written from 1703 to 1720 by George Friedrich Handel. This motley work gives a European and charming overview of the different musical languages used by Handel, and the musical traditions that he assimilated. The Sarabande from the 4th Suite in D minor is the most well-known after its use in Stanley Kubrick's movie Barry Lindon.
