About :Alcina is an opera in three acts by Georg Friedrich Handel (1685-1759), which premiered in London in 1735. The libretto, by an anonymous author, is inspired by the 'Orlando Furioso' of Ariosto. It tells the story of the fascinating magician Alcina, who fell in love with the knight Ruggiero. In the air 'Tornami a vagheggiar' which closes Act I, Alcina's sister Morgana rejoices in the love she thinks she is receiving from 'Ricciardo'.
