Etienne Candela & Olivier Pelmoine
When composing his impressionistic and avant-garde "Gnossiennes", Erik Satie (1866-1925) created a name for this new musical form derived from "gnose" (in Ancient Greek, "gnôsis" means knowledge) - at the time, Satie was involved in gnostic sects and movements. He was also inspired by Greek mythology. Made of six parts, the Gnossiennes were originally written for piano solo but are presented here in an arrangement for two guitars.
