About :The Gymnopédies are a series of three variations of impressionist slow waltzes for solo Piano, composed by Erik Satie (1866-1925) and published in Paris in 1888. They were inspired by Gustave Flaubert's historical novel Salammbô (1862) and the Gymnopédies, ritual dances performed in Sparta during religious festivals in ancient Greece.
