About :Although Schumann took Cello lessons during his youth, he only started composing for this instrument in the last years of his life. Other than the Cello Concerto in A minor, only his five pieces Op.102 were preserved for this instrument. His wife Clara thought enthusiastically, “They are pieces in the popular style and of such freshness and originality that I have been absolutely delighted.”
