Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) is one of the most famous Russian composers in the history of music. He was an eclectic composer and notably wrote eleven operas, six symphonies, four orchestral suites, five concertos, and more than a hundred melodies, piano pieces and chamber music works. He has also written the music for three ballets, which are perhaps his best known works today: Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker.
