Sylvia Huang & Aline Piboule
Henryk Wieniawski (1835-1880) was a Polish violinist and composer. He made two Polonaises, the most famous being this “Polonaise brillante” op.21 in A major. This Polonaise is a virtuoso piece in which the violin clearly takes a dominant role. It is unclear which of the two versions was composed first, both the one for piano and violin and the one for orchestra and violin having been composed and first performed in 1870, the former in Warsaw and the latter in St Petersburg.
