About :An early work by Georg Friedrich Handel (1685-1759), who left to complete his training in Italy in 1706, Agrippina HWV 6 was acclaimed in Venice in 1709. Composed on a libretto by Vincenzo Grimani, the opera of the 'caro sassone' sets to music political manœuvres and love stories around the empress Agrippina, her husband Claudius and her son Nero. The latter renounces his love for Poppea to devote himself to his accession to the throne in the conquering aria 'Come nube che fugge dal vento' at the end of the last act.
